1999 YEAR OF THE RABBIT 1 KILO COIN

The reverse design on this coin features a young, alert rabbit sitting in the
grass with his ears pricked. A golden coloured diamond is featured as
the rabbit's visible eye. There is a coloured border of purple bats and
yellow clouds, which symbolize longevity, health, peace and
prosperity. Traditionally, the colours yellow and purple are used to
represent the Chinese Emperor's robe. The Chinese character for rabbit
and the 1999-year date are also incorporated into the design.
Because of its large, lustrous eyes, the rabbit is associated with clear
sightedness and being an excellent judge of character. People born in
the Year of the Rabbit are said to be articulate, talented, virtuous and
are often gifted as healers. They display wisdom and excellent taste, are
clever in business and usually lucky. Rabbit people lead long lives

Australian Currency Act 1965 and is made from 99.9% pure silver with
one 0.02 carat golden coloured diamond. The Perth Mint will release
