YEAR OF THE HORSE 3 COIN SILVER PROOF COLLECTION
LUNAR COIN SERIES

This is a brilliant set of coins that has been released by The Perth Mint
to celebrate the Year of the Horse. This 3-coin collection is just a part
of The Australian Lunar Proof Series, and the coins are made from 99.9%
pure silver. In each set there is a ½ oz, 1 oz and 2 oz coin. The Chinese
believe that the horse is associated with energy and success. The Year of
the Horse is said to be marked by increased commercial activity and interest
in outdoor pursuits and physical exercise. People born in the Year of the
Horse are typically cheerful, skillful and perceptive. They are popular,
talkative, confident and intelligent, manage their money well and love
their freedom. The reverse designs feature a mature horse in full gallop,
bordered by five bats, which symbolize health, peace and prosperity.
The Chinese character for horse and The Perth Mint's traditional 'P'
mintmark are also incorporated into the design. The obverse of each
coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth II. The Perth Mint will release no more than 1000 3-coin sets.
The coins come to you complete with a Certificate of Authenticity
and are housed in a red leather display case.
