PLANETARY ALIGNMENT 10oz COLOURED PROOF LIKE COIN

This is a spectacular 10oz silver coin that highlights the notional alignment
on 5th May 2000 of seven of the celestial bodies in our solar system -
the Earth, Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Such
alignments occur, on average, once every decade. Minted and inspected
by the Perth Mint under the authority of the Government of the Cook
Islands, this Cook Islands Planetary Alignment 10oz coin has been
made from 99.9% pure silver and has a coloured proof like finish. The
central design features a pad printed colour image of the seven bodies
of the solar system. The design is surrounded by the names of the
planets and their astrological glyphs, or symbols. The next ring features
seven panels depicting the archetypical ancient Roman and Greek gods
after which the planets were named. Tellus is the Roman goddess of
fertile soil; Helios is the Greek sun god; Hermes is the Greek
messenger of the gods; Venus is the Roman goddess of love; Mars is
the Roman god of war; Zeus is the king of the Greek gods and ruler of
Olympus; and Saturn is the Roman god of agriculture. The obverse
of the coin features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth II. The mintage on this superb coin is limited to only 5000
worldwide, making this a brilliant addition to any collection.
