KANGAROO IN SLIPCASE

This is a stunning coin that has been released by the Royal Australian Mint
and is the 11th year that the 1oz $1.00 Silver Kangaroo coin in the
series has been released. Aboriginal artist, Ray Thomas, has taken
this Frosted Uncirculated Kangaroo coin from a sketch, after he has
spent many years researching his people's myths, legends, designs
and bodymarks. Ray comes from the Gunnai people of the Gippsland
area in the state of Victoria. Evolving towards a more personal
style, Ray is mainly self-taught and has combined a temporary
sensibility with an awareness of traditional Gunnai designs and
motifs in his design of the roo. Faithfully sculpted and then struck
in fine silver to the Royal Australian Mint's high standards,
this coin celebrates Australia's best known animal and features
the third Aboriginal design in this series. Made from 99.9% fine
silver this coin comes complete in a slipcase and protective
plastic covering. An unbelievable piece to add to any collection.
