2001 TEN OUNCE COLLECTION OF 3 COINS

This astounding Ten Ounce Collection was brought out by The Perth Mint
in 2001, and contains a 1oz, 2oz and 10oz coin. Each coin has been
struck from 99.9% pure silver and are of proof quality that feature a
frosted design on a highly polished background.
The 10oz coin features a stunning new design to celebrate mankind's
intellectual achievements over the past millennia. Subtitled the
Evolution Series, it is the first in a five year companion series to the
Proof Kookaburra. The first design in the series commemorates the
Evolution of the Calendar and depicts 12 symbols from the calendars
developed by various cultural groups through the ages. The central
coloured design area features the solar system, the key element in the
development of all calendar systems.
The 1oz and 2oz coins feature a soaring Kookaburra, superimposed over a
map of Australia. They also feature the Perth Mint's traditional 'P'
mintmark in the design.
The reverse of each of these coins features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination. A
limited mintage of only 400 coins has been set on this collection. These
coins come to you housed in a terracotta coloured leather look display
case, along with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. An exquisite
collection of coins that would take pride of place in any collection.
