AUSTRALIAN COINAGE OF
KING GEORGE VI 1938-1952

This is a beautifully presented collection of pre decimal coins that were
released during King George VI's reign, 1938 - 1952. King George VI
acceded to the throne in 1936, following the abdication of King Edward III.
The Melbourne Mint struck the first complete year of King George VI
coinage in 1938. All denominations, except the sixpence, were released with
the new reverse designs during 1938-39.
These coins come to you in a presentation folder with some information
about King George VI and the coins themselves. Containing six coins in
total, the set includes a Halfpenny minted between 1938 - 1952, a Penny
minted between 1938 -1952, a Threepence minted between 1938 - 1952
(excluding 1945-46), a Sixpence minted between 1938 - 1952 (except 1947
and 1949), a Shilling minted between 1938 - 1952 (excluding 1945, 1947,
1949 & 1951) and a Florin minted between 1938 - 1952 (except 1948-50).
Each features the obverse design by Thomas Humphrey Paget. This is an
excellent way to collect pre decimal coins in a brilliantly displayed folder.
